At the Queen Elizabeth Hospital with her family by her side on Friday, October 5, 2012, of Mary Louise Ives (nee Wright, Abbott), age 86 years.
Beloved mother of Catherine McCormack (Lynn), Elizabeth Clay (David), Charles Abbott (Judy Rowe), John Abbott (Kendra), Douglas Abbott (Brenda), David Abbott (Linda) and Jane Kennedy (Rick). Grandmother of Denine Hancock (Brian), Rob (Diane), Lani and Mark McCormack (Chrissie); Jackie (Amy Urquhart), Johnna and Jeremy Clay (Maria); Craig (Rosalyn), Mitchel, Alecia and Alex Abbott; Jordan and Janine Abbott; Sarah Carpenter (Joe), Alex and Scott Abbott; Dan, Emily and Hillary Abbott; Sarah, Megan, Rebecca and Emma Kennedy and great-grandmother of 11. She is fondly remembered by stepchildren William (June), Rodney (Sheila), John (Gail), James (Marlene White) and Douglas Ives (Debbie) and Rosemary Wall (Norman), 20 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren.
Predeceased by her husbands, George Abbott in 1966 and George Ives in 1993; her parents, Stewart and Hilda (Gardiner); her brother, Ralph and sister Hazel. Also survived by her brother-in-law Ron Woodgate and sister-in-law Audrey Wright and their families.
Resting at MacLean Funeral Home Swan Chapel. Funeral service from Zion Presbyterian Church on Tuesday at 10 a.m. Interment later in Sherwood Cemetery.
Visiting hours were held on Monday from 2-5 p.m.
