We the family announce the death of Allister Malcolm Morrison at the Glace Bay Hospital on Saturday, Oct. 7, 2012.
Allister was born in Glace Bay, N.S. on Oct. 8, 1920, to Martha and Alexander Morrison.
Upon leaving school he was employed with the Dominion Coal Company. He later opened Glace Bay and New Waterford Auto Supplies, which became Seaboard Industrial Supply Co. Ltd. in Sydney.
Allister is survived by his daughters, Linda (Pat) O’Neill, Karen Morrison-Hollands, Alana Morrison, Gail Connor; and son, Bill (Fran) Morrison.
He is also survived by grandchildren, Jennifer (Bobby), Susan (Derek), Heather (Matt), Michael (Nancy), Jennifer Anne (Michael), Diane and Ryan; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Jacen, Maddison, Avery, Brennan, Casey and Carter as well as nieces and nephews.
Besides his mother and father, Allister was predeceased by his wife of 61 years, Anna Marguerite MacDonald, sister and brother-in-law, Sarah and Robert Morrison, son-in-law, Ernest Hollands, sister-in-law, Mary Bradley and grandson, Eric Morrison.
A special thank you to Dr. Ley, Dr. Thana, and the emergency room nurses for their compassion and kindness to Allister.
There will be no visitation at his request. A family service will take place at a later date.
Memorial donations can be made to a charity of ones choice.
