At the QE2, Halifax, on Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012, of Sherman Arthur Betts of O’Leary, aged 60. Born in O’Leary on June 16, 1952, he was the son of Mae (MacLean) Betts, O’Leary, and the late Orville Betts. Dear father to Heidi (Jason) Chaisson, Miminegash, and Daniel Sherman (Lynsay), Milo. Loving grandfather to Brittany Betts, Tristan and Lucas Chaisson, Mariah, Callie Jo and Bradley Betts. Sherman is also survived by sisters and brothers: Maxine(Heath) MacDougall, O’Leary; Donna (Ricky) Ellis, Dunblane; Yvonne Betts, Dunblane; Grant (Trudy) Betts, Bloomfield; Michele Buchanan, Summerside; Karen (Wyatt) Dyment, Piusville; Blake Betts, O’Leary; and Carter (Nancy) Betts, Glenwood. He is also survived by several aunts and uncles. Predeceased by his father, niece Wendy Betts and nephew Cory Buchanan. Resting at the FergusonFuneral Home and Chapel, O’Leary, with visiting hours Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service on Monday at 11 a.m. in the Chapel. Interment will follow in the Glenwood United Church Cemetery.
