It is with great sadness and heavy hearts we announce the passing of our strong and courageous mother and grandmother on Oct. 15, 2012 at the New Waterford Consolidated Hospital.
Born in Glace Bay on July 10, 1932, she was the eldest daughter of the late Alfred and Christine (MacPhee) Blois. Ma was a kind and caring woman who always put her family first and her humour and spunk will be missed deeply. Ma loved to cook, bake, crochet and share her goodies with her family.
She is survived by her children, Rita Desveaux, Walter Jr. (Jacqueline), John (Diane); grandchildren Laura, Matthew and Johnathan; sisters, Eleanor (Graham) Brownell, Sylvia (Joe) Wrice, Rose (Kevin) Baldwin, Rita (Kieth) Mulvey, Linda (Gerry) Croney; brothers, Jackie (Sally), Lawrence (Colleen) and Reggie (Glenda); Uncle Teddy (Lou), Hamilton, Ont., as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by her loving husband Walter and son-in-law Raymond Desveaux; brothers Alfred Jr. and Jerry Blois.
Visitation will take place Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and funeral mass will be Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012 at 10 a.m. in the Parish of Saint Leonard with Fr. Ray Huntley officiating. Burial in St. Agnes Cemetery, followed by a reception in the parish hall, Convent Street.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of McLellan Brothers Funeral Home, 3183 Plummer Ave., New Waterford, 862-7500.
