Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Complex on Tuesday, October 16, 2012, Jonas James Benjamin Simms, aged 67 years. Predeceased by his wife, Edith (nee Rose); daughter Tracy Simms; brother, Phillip Simms; parents: George and Maisie Simms; brothers-in-law: Stewart Potts, Don, and Anthony Benoit; nephews: Dennis Sutton and David Potts. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his son, Cliff (Amanda); son-in-law, Perry Simms of Gaultois, grandchildren: Danielle, Devin and Daylen Simms; great grandchild, Shakira; sisters: Mary Potts of London, ON, Florence Sutton (Norman) of Bay d’Espoir, NL, Sarah Benoit (Cyril) of St. Alban’s, NL; sister-in-law, Maude Simms of Corner Brook, NL; brother, Albert Simms (Audrey) of Hermitage, NL; also a large number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. At his request cremation has taken place. Visitation to be held at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Thursday, October 18, 2012 from 12 noon - 2 p.m. Funeral service to be held from Barrett’s Chapel on Thursday, October 18, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. Interment to be held in Gaultois, NL at a later date.
