Karen Atwater

Karen Lee Atwater, 66 of Blue Mountain, passed away peacefully October 16, 2012 in the Palliative Care Unit of the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, surrounded by her family and friends.
Born in Toronto, she was a daughter of the late Kay and Marion (Whooten) ­Moffatt.
Karen was a kind and gentle person with a smile for everyone. She loved her flowers around her home and decorating for Christmas.
She is survived by her husband Gregory, Blue Mountain; a daughter Christine Carmichael, Antigonish; a son Vincent (Anita), Gairloch; grandchildren: Kelsey, Stephen, Brittany, Roland and Serenah; sisters, Pat (Fraser) Murray, Meadowville; Gail (Grover) Sewell, Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta; brothers, Allan, New Glasgow; Ian (Lisa), Woodstock; NB; an aunt Doris (Gordon) Weir, Windsor Junction; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her parents.
Her remains will rest in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow, for visiting from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday from where funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday with Rev. Richard Sand presiding. Burial will follow in the Blue Mountain Cemetery. A reception will follow in the Blue Mountain Fire Hall.
Donations in memory of Karen may be made to the Palliative Care Society of the Aberdeen Hospital.
