It is with deep regret that we, the family, announce the passing of Walter Grace on Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012.
Born in New Waterford, he was the son of Mrs. Annie (Benoit) Grace, New Waterford, and the late Daniel Grace.
He was employed at the Lingan and Phalen coal mines until his retirement. After retirement he was the bartender at the Mira Boat Club for a couple of years.
Walter enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time with his sons and grandsons, swimming on the Mira and taking longs walks.
Walter is survived by his mother, Annie; wife of 37 years, Jean (Peckham), separated; sons, Walter (Katharine) Grace, Sheldon (Melissa) Grace, both of Halifax; his pride and joy, his two grandsons, Joey and Aidan. He is also survived by his siblings, Kay MacGillivary (Donnie), Carmel Miller (Jed), Jessie Picco (Dave), Dan Grace, Birt Grace (Barbara), Edward Grace (Betty), Raymond Grace (Debbie), as well as many nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place.
Memorial arrangements are to be determined at a later date.
