Earl Joseph Bourgeois, age 80 of Springhill passed away peacefully on Friday, September 7, 2012 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre. Born in Joggins - Lower Cove, he was a son of the late Harry and Beatrice (Cormier) Bourgeois.
Earl enjoyed fishing, playing music, farming, and spending time with friends and family, especially his children and grandchildren. He was a very generous person who was always ready to help others.
Earl will be sadly missed by his wife Dora Bourgeois; daughters, Tammy (Mark) Hicks of Amherst, Bonnie (Corey) Morris of Great Village, NS, Paula (Carl Foulton) Bourgeois of Springhill, Janna (Jack) MacAloney of Southampton, NS; step son, Ralph DeBorne of Joggins Lower Cove; grandhildren, Dylan, Nikki, Sonia, Marissa, Kendra, Kiara, Owen, and Harley; step grandchildren, Summer, Joey and Tyler; brothers, Edward (Eva), and Victor (Cathy) both of Joggins; sister, Theresa Smith of Amherst; as well as many other extended family members.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Furlong-Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church St. Amherst, (667-8777). A graveside service will be held at the St. Denis Cemetery, Minudie on October 27, 2012 at 12 p.m. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Earl may do so to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
