DEVEAU, Mabel Mary – 85, Sunset Terrace, Yarmouth, formerly of Chester St., Yarmouth, passed away on Friday, October 19, 2012 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born May 30, 1927 in Hectanooga, she was a daughter of the late Angus and Nora (Deveau) Deveau. Mabel worked at Dominion Textiles for many years. Until her health prevented her from doing so, she enjoyed bowling, walking, knitting and volunteering at the Yarmouth Hospital. She is survived by her daughter, Louise (Richard) Pyne, Hectanooga, as well as by granddaughters, Lisa (Adam) Bunin and Colette (Curtis) Sexton, and great grandchildren, Acadia, Ty, London, Ronan and Jacob. Aside from her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Hector Deveau. Visitation took place from 2-4 and 7-9 Wednesday, with prayers at 8 p.m., both at H. M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, 29 Albert Street, Yarmouth. The funeral mass was held at 11 a.m., Thursday, October 25 at Saint Ambrose Cathedral, Yarmouth, Father John MacPherson officiated. Interment followed in the Hectanooga Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Yarmouth Hospital Foundation or to the Yarmouth Food Bank.
