Tara Ann Morgan

Lieu de naissance : Glace Bay, Nouvelle Ecosse, Canada

Lieu de décès : Glace Bay, Nouvelle Ecosse, Canada
Date de décès : 25 octobre 2012

It is with extremely heavy hearts that we, the family, announce the passing of our precious daughter, granddaughter, niece and friend, Tara Ann Morgan on Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012, at home.
Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of Fabian Morgan (Melissa Nearing) of Glace Bay, and Wanda Clements (Eugene Snow) of Chezzetcook.
Tara graduated from Glace Bay High in 2006. She was an avid athlete throughout her high school years, excelling in basketball with the Glace Bay Panthers. Following her graduation, she took an interest in hockey. She could also be found, at any given time, working out in the gym. If it was sports/exercise related, Tara was there, eager to try something new.
In earlier years, Tara was employed as a customer service associate with Wal-Mart and as an employee of the Tasty Treat. She also worked as a residential rehabilitation specialist in the communities of New Waterford and Reserve.
Tara attended the University of Cape Breton and was enrolled in the science and art program. It was during this two-year period that she realized her true calling in life and set her sights on becoming a police officer. In 2009, that dream became a reality as she graduated from the Atlantic Police Academy in Prince Edward Island and in 2010 joined the ranks of the Cape Breton Regional Police Services as a constable.
Tara had an extreme and unwavering love for her family and spending time with them was very important to her. She will fondly be remembered for her quick wit, sense of humour and for her ability to light up a room with her smile. Her positive outlook on life and her willingness to try and to embrace new things will never be forgotten. Tara faced all of life's obstacles, including her illness, with sheer determination and fight; she was in no way a quitter and she never complained or felt sorry for herself. Tara was, and always will be a ray of light to all those who had the pleasure of meeting her.
Surviving, besides her parents, are paternal grandmother, Carmella Morgan, Glace Bay; uncles, Gurney Clements (Doreen), Reggie Clements (Cavelle), Randy Clements (Sylvia), Kevin Clements, Darren Clements, Jim Morgan (Leslie), John Morgan; aunts, Donelda Clements (Blair), Theresa Morgan (Dick), Rose Deveaux (Lloyd), Marie Morgan (Danny); numerous cousins, all of whom she considered her own siblings.
Tara was predeceased by maternal grandparents, Ellsworth and Jeanette Clements.
Visitation will be held Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay. Funeral service will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in Knox United Church with Rev. John Finlayson officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens.
Tara’s family would like to offer their heartfelt thanks to the nurses of the VON and Palliative Care for their exemplary care, warmth and compassion — because of you, Tara was able to remain home, surrounded by love and family.
Memorial donations may be made in Tara’s memory to the Victorian Order of Nurses or Palliative Care.
Expressions of sympathy may be expressed to the family by visiting www.vjmcgillivray.ca.
