It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, on Monday, Oct. 28, 2012, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Born in Island View, Bernice was the daughter of the late Alan and Helen (MacNamara) MacAdam.
She is survived by her children, Colleen (James) Peterson, Sydney, Paula (Donnie) Stewart, Sydney, Scott (Paula), Halifax, and Danny, Sydney; brothers, Ned (Winnie) and Donald (Liz) MacAdam; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, Bernice was predeceased by her husband, Angus, son, Barry, sister, Myrtle MacGillvary, and brothers, John, Michael, Frances and William MacAdam.
In keeping with Bernice’s wishes cremation has taken place, and there will be no visitation. A memorial mass will be held Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church, Sydney, with Fr. James Oliver officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cape Breton Palliative Care Center, Sydney, or the VON.
