CREAM, Beatrice Marie – 86, North River, passed away peacefully Thursday morning, November 1, 2012, in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born May 11, 1926, in North River, she was a daughter of the late William and Jessie (Mingo) Blair. Beatrice was a past member of North River United Church where she taught Sunday school in earlier years. She began her career as a weaver, worked at Stanfield’s and retired from Singer Sewing Machine Shop. She enjoyed knitting and many of her family and friends will cherish the sweaters and mittens she made for them. She did the Lexicon puzzle weekly and won many times, solved crypto quotes and crosswords and looked forward to her shopping trips to town where she frequented The Dollar Store. Beatrice is survived by her loving husband, Jack “Jackie”; children, Arden Cream, North River; Beth (Jack) Keirstead, Bill (Diane) Cream, Onslow Mountain; grandchildren, Doug (Kayla), Rebecca, Sarah (Mitch), Lloyd (Beth), Brian (Patricia), Lisa (Barry); great grandson, Daxtin; sisters, Kathleen Fell, Valleyview, Alberta; Marguerite (Floyd) Tattrie, North River; many nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Lydia, Jean, Irene; brothers, Archie, Russell, Edgar, Ernie, Gordon, Raymond, Elmer, Eric. Special thanks are extended to the staff of 4 East, Colchester Regional Hospital, VON Homecare Workers and Dr. Loshaj for all their wonderful care and compassion. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where Beatrice’s family will receive friends from 12-1 p.m., Sunday, November 4, 2012, followed by the funeral service at 1 p.m., Reverend Kym Burke-Cole officiating. Interment in North River United Church Cemetery. Reception will follow in North River United Church Hall. Family flowers only.
