Brownell, Bina Alice (Brander) - 93, Tatamagouche, formerly of Northport, passed away Nov 3rd, 2012, at the Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital, Tatamagouche. Born in Northport she was a daughter of the late Tom and Hazel (Burns) Brander. Bina was post mistress at her home in Northport for many years, retiring in 1984. She was an adherent of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, Riverview, and a member of The Order of the Eastern Star, Sunrise Chapter No.50, Pugwash. Bina was the wife of the late Gerald Brownell of Northport; loving mother of Shirley (Everett) Ward, Pembroke, ON, and Gordon (Penny) Brownell, Tatamagouche; loving grandmother of Shannon (Sue) Brownell, Orono, ON; Kirk Brownell, Burlington, ON; Kelly Brownell, ON; Connie Langille (Dwayne), Tatamagouche, Julie (Don) Reynalds, Acme, AB; Eugene (Lisa) Ward, Pembroke, ON; Karen Primeau, Lethbridge, AB; Janet Ward, Arnpriar, ON; six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband she was predeceased by sisters and brothers-in-law, Ada (Doug) Peers; Anna (Arthur) Moore; brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert (Jean) Brander; Harold “Babe” (Rita) Brander; Walter (Jewel) Brander; Leslie “Joe” Brander and Larry Brander. Visitation will be held from 1-3 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, with the funeral service to follow at 3 pm, both in Mundle’s Funeral Home, 204 Water St., Pugwash (243-2506). Rev. Morley Bentley officiating. Burial in the family plot at Northport Hillside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bina’s memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
