Robert “Bob” Lawson Redden, 79, of Three Mile Plains, Hants County, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 31, 2012, in the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born on January 2, 1933, in Martock, Hants County, Nova Scotia, he was the son of the late Neil Harris Redden and Winnifred “Winnie” Burnette (Taylor) Redden. Bob was a well-known Hants County carpenter and had also worked in the Halifax area. He was a member of the Windsor United Baptist Church. In his retirement years, “Bobby” enjoyed spending time babysitting his grandchildren. Bob is survived by his wife of 51 years, the former, Patricia “Pat” J. Swinamer; his children, Scott Redden (Bev), Windsor; Carol Redden-Dill, Windsor; Mary Jo Redden, Windsor; grandchildren, Alexander Redden, Michael Dill, and Alison Dill; Tasha Rogers; sister, Lois Smith, Lower Vaughan’s; sisters-in-law, Carol Ann (Al) Hartlen; Susie Sweeney; Shirley Smith; Eleanor Redden; Carol Redden; Velma Redden; Carol Oakley; Ruth Redden; and Dorothy Redden; brothers-in-law, Gordon Swinamer; Carl Atwell; numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Neil and Winnie (Taylor) Redden; Bob was predeceased by son, Thomas “Tommy” Wade Redden; siblings, Bruce; twins, Sam (Margaret) Redden and Alice (Norris) Wilson; Marjorie (Minard) Brown; twins, Ernest and Laurie Redden; Milford Redden; John Redden; Clarie Redden; Gordon Redden; Bob’s twin, Reg Redden; Mary Atwell and Vernon (Mary) Redden; brothers-in-law, John Smith and Vernon Swinamer. Visitation was 6-9 p.m. Saturday, November 3, in Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King Street, Windsor. Memorial service was 2 p.m. Sunday, November 4, 2012, in the Windsor United Baptist Church, 411 King Street, Windsor. The Rev. Jeffrey White officiated, followed by a private family committal service at Maplewood Cemetery, King Street, Windsor.
