McKILLOP, SYLVIA D. - It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Sylvia Doreen McKillop of Saint John, wife of the late Hugh E. McKillop, which occurred on Monday, November 5, 2012 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born at Zealand, York County, she was a daughter of the late Rhodes and Marilda (Crouse) Burtt. Sylvia enjoyed reading and caring for her family, and was a long time member of the Church of the Good Shepherd. Sylvia is survived by her children, Gwen O’Brien of Saint John, Craig McKillop of Toronto, Peter McKillop (Lynn Campbell) of Welsford, and Joselyn Duke (Ken) of London, ON; a brother, Wayne Burtt of Burtt’s Corner; four grandchildren, Caitlin and Meghan O’Brien, Evan and Emily Duke, two step-grandchildren, Brennan and Sarah Campbell; and several nieces and nephews. Sylvia was predeceased by sisters Darlene Hayes and Gwendolyn Burtt; and by brothers Robert, Edgar, Curtis, Irvine, and James Burtt.
Resting at Brenan's Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John (634-7425) with visiting on Thursday, November 8, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held from the Church of the Good Shepherd on Friday, November 9, 2012 at 11:00 am. Interment will take place in Cedar Hill Extension.
