We regret to announce the passing of Beaver Donovan, 56, on Monday, November 5, 2012, at the Northside General Hospital, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Sydney Mines on November 27, 1955, Beaver was the son of the late Timothy and Margaret (Royal) Donovan. He was a member of St. Pius X parish, Sydney Mines.
Beaver was well known as a handyman, and whether he was fixing a car, or doing carpenter work, he was always willing to help out and lend a hand. He will be sadly missed by his best friends Newfie Forrest and Wilhena Donovan.
Beaver is survived by his children; Mathew, Lisa, Jason, Roy, Bryden and A.J. Also left to mourn are his sisters Shirley and Margaret; his brothers Michael, Tom, John, Kenneth, Jimmy, Harold, Emmanuel and Peter, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Bonnie (MacIntyre) Donovan; son Trevor; twin sister Mary in infancy; sister Jane Rose; brother George, and a number of siblings in infancy.
Visitation for Beaver Donovan will be held in the J. M. Jobes Funeral Home, 635 Main St., Sydney Mines, on Thursday, November 8, 2012, from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral mass will take place on Friday, at 10 a.m. in St. Pius X church, with Fr. Thomas John officiating. A reception will be held in the parish hall, after the service.
