Terrilynn 'Tia' Tomiczek

Date de décès : 5 novembre 2012

We are saddened to announce the sudden passing of Terrilynn ‘Tia’ Tomiczek, 35, surrounded by her loving friends and family.
Tia passed away at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, on Monday, Nov. 5, 2012, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Terrilynn is survived by her two cherished daughters, Chloe (aged six) and Kiara (aged five). Also left to mourn are her mother, Brenda Horne; stepfather, Danny Horne. Terrilynn was blessed with a large family including sisters, Wendy McNeil (Todd), Dominion, Terra Garnier, Tammy (Mike) Garnier, both in Halifax; brothers, Cory McNeil, Dominion, Michael Tomiczek (Kelly), Sydney; and her nieces and nephews who loved her dearly, Amanda, Krista, Madison, Nikita, Elsie, Evan, Carson and Colton. Terrilynn is also survived by her maternal grandparents, Manning and Veronica McIntyre, as well Helen Horne.
Terrilynn was predeceased by her father, Terrance Tomiczek and her paternal grandparents, Stanley and Francis Tomiczek.
Tia always excelled in her studies. She attended school in Dominion, graduated with honours from Macdonald High in 1995. She went on to obtain a bachelor of science from Cape Breton University and was pursuing a career in nursing.
Her biggest achievement and her proudest moments were in raising her two daughters, known as ‘Mumma’s Babies.’ Terrilynn put her heart and soul into being a mother. Her children were blessed with many special adventures and snuggle times with their Mom. They are the legacy she leaves behind.
Terrilynn adored her family and large circle of friends. She was an avid music lover, she loved to relax with her extended family in Mira, never missed a campfire, enjoyed many beach days and nights on Dominion Beach. In her early 20s, she went to Korea to teach ESL and took every opportunity to see the world while she was there.
Tia had the ability to light up a room; an infectious laugh and quick witted sense of humour. Terrilynn had a strong sense of faith and a serene demeanour which was evident throughout her illness.
Terrilynn was loved dearly and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Visitation will be in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay, on Thursday, Nov. 8 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A celebration of her life will be held at V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home chapel on Friday, Nov. 9 at 11 a.m. with Fr. Daniel Boudreau officiating. Family flowers only please.
