Mr. John “Jack” Cumberland, age 90, of Moose Jaw, passed away peacefully on November 4, 2012. Born March 23, 1922 in the Tuxford District, he attended South Lake School. Jack began high school at Moose Jaw Tech (Peacock) until he joined the RCAF. He served overseas in 1942 and was posted to 408 Squadron, returning to Canada in 1945. He met Doreen Rodgers in North Battleford in 1951 and they were married in Meadow Lake in 1953. Jack worked at the Texaco Canada Bulk Station for 30 years, and also 5 years with the Canadian Corps of Commissionaires. He enjoyed his summers at his cottage at Buffalo Pound Lake, and also the many trips he and Doreen took to Hawaii, Mexico, and Florida in the winter. Predeceased by his parents Harold and May, five sisters and one brother, he is survived by his children, Rodger (Carin) and Elaine (Dave) Peltier; brothers Jim (Inez) and Joe; grandchildren Lisa (Ron) Cumberland and Vanessa (Gil) Amores; and one great-grandchild Grace Cumberland “Amazing Grace”; as well as many nieces and nephews. A Private Family Service will be held. Family and Friends are invited to a Come & Go Tea at Jones Family Centre, 262 Athabasca St.E., on Friday November 9, 2012 from 2 – 4 pm. Memorials to the Saskatchewan Heart & Stroke Foundation, 279 3rd Ave. N., Saskatoon, S7K 2H8, would be appreciated. In living memory of Jack, a memorial planting will be made by W. J.
