It is with sadness that we, the family announce the peaceful passing of Mary Metcalfe on Wednesday, November 7, at the QE 2 Health Science Centre, Halifax.
Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Leonard and Euphemia (Woodman) Metcalfe.
Mary was quiet by nature and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Everyone depended and relied on Mary. She was always there when someone needed her. She was appreciated by all who knew her, including Robert, Vicky, Madison and Robert Jr., her extended family. She looked forward to going to bingo with friends.
She is survived by her loving son, Patrick Daniel Nolan; companion, Patty Nolan; sisters Tina Lynk, Debbie Klien; brothers Kevin and Michael, all of Hamilton, On, Bill, Glace Bay; aunt Shirley and uncle Eddy Woodman, Mulgrave.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother Wayne.
At Mary’s request there will be no visitation or funeral service. A graveside committal will be held on Tuesday, November 13 at 2 p.m. in St. Anne’s Cemetery. The Deacon Lorne MacNeil will be officiating.
