LeBLANC, BERNADETTE - (Shediac) - Bernadette “Bernie” LeBlanc, 83, wife of the late Valerie LeBlanc, of Résidence “O” Bons Soins, Shediac, passed away on Sunday, November 11, 2012 at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital Centre following a lengthy illness. Born December 7, 1928 in Scoudouc, she was the daughter of the late Willie and Françoise Cormier. She and her husband Val owned and operated Vet’s Taxi and General Store in Shediac for many years. Her interests and hobbies were playing cards, Bingo, yearly family reunions especially at her sister Oliva’s farmhouse in Memramcook, and loved to travel to visit her family. Her ultimate trip was with her sisters in Atlantic City. She is survived by a daughter, Patsy and her husband Darryl MacKay of Moncton; their two children: Keith and Darryl Jr.; a son Michel and his wife Lorraine of Saint John; their three children: Pierre, François, and Daniel; a brother , Edouard Cormier (Thérèse) of Dieppe, a sister, Doris Piwinski (Lenny) of Malden, MA; many nieces, and nephews. Besides her husband, Bernadette is also predeceased by a baby son Robert, three brothers, Léo, Armand, Françis and five sisters: Oliva LeBlanc, Yvonne Sonier, Rita Scott, Dorilla LeBlanc and Aldina Cormier.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette’s Funeral Home, 396 Main Street, Shediac (532-3297). Visiting hours Thursday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and Friday, from 10 a.m. until departure (10:50). The funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s R.C. Church, 415 Main Street, Shediac, on Friday, November 16th at 11 a.m. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. In memory of Bernadette, a contribution to the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital Foundation (Oncology) would be appreciated.
