STELLARTON – Bernard Anthony ”Bunny” DeYoung, 85 of Stellarton, passed away November 12, 2012 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late Walter and Margaret (Bedford) DeYoung.
He is survived by his wife the former Lillian Harris, Stellarton; sons, Bernard Dale, MacLellan’s Brook; Leslie, New Brunswick; a daughter Bonnie Cecilia (Cecil) Richards, Stellarton; a step-son Everett, Guysborough County; grandchildren, Sherry Richards, Monica Currie, Joey Lannon, Anthony DeYoung, Latasha DeYoung, Michael DeYoung and Jessie DeYoung, several great-grandchildren, a number of brothers and sisters, many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a step-son John, several brothers and sisters.
Cremation to take place. The family will receive visitors from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow. A memorial mass will be held 11 a.m. Saturday from Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, Stellarton, with Father Peter MacDonald presiding. Burial of ashes will take place in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens.
Donations in memory of Bunny may be made to the Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Foundation.
