Passed peacefully away at her home in Strathroy, Ontario with family by her side. Predeceased by her husband Clarence, father Fred Stevenson, mother Margaret Chafe and step-father Cyril Chafe, as well as seven brothers and sisters from the Stevenson and Chafe families and sister and brothers-in-law from the Dymond family. Left to remember Joan are her children: Derrick (Patsy) Torbay, Lynn Grant (Bill) St. John’s, Paul, Torbay, Mike (Annette) Berwick, N.S., Ann Marie Wade (Cod,) Torbay, and Chris (Krista), Rusagonis, N.B.; grand children: Carl, Gary (Renee), Steven, Cheryl, Holly, Jason, Colin, Thomas, Hayley, Alyssa, Courtney, Amanda, Jessica and Jenna; great-grandchildren: Kayleigh, Abigale, Blair and Jack; 14 brothers and sisters and many other family and friends in Ontario, Alberta, and Newfoundland. At mom’s request cremation has taken place, no visitation. A memorial service was held in Strathroy, Ontario on Saturday, November 10. Another memorial will be held at Carnell Memorial Chapel, 329 Freshwater Road on Saturday, November 17th at 10 am. Interment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
