THORNTON, HELEN SUSAN (CLINE) - Bangor, Maine - Helen Susan (Cline) Thornton, 62, died November 13, 2012 after a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis. She was born June 25, 1950 in St. Stephen, NB Canada the daughter of the late Ralph M. and Viola B. (Barteau) Cline. Helen graduated from the Eastern Maine Medical School of Nursing in 1973. She worked as a registered nurse at the Ridgewood Alcohol and Drug Detox Center in Saint John, NB. She was a very strong and independent woman before her illness who loved her family dearly. Helen enjoyed painting, being read too, but most of all she just loved to have her grandchildren around her. She is survived by her husband of 36 years William Thornton of Bangor, Maine; son Ian Trent Thornton and his fiancé Marie of Enfield, Maine; five grandchildren Cameron Trent Thornton of Chapel Hill NC, Kainan Troy Thornton of Bangor, Maine, Isabelle Helen Susan Thornton, Isaiah Trent Thornton, and Karter Marie Thornton all of Enfield, Maine; two brothers Conrad Cline and his wife Anna, and Trevor Cline and his wife Tisha all of Deer Island, NB; two sisters Carmen and her husband Peter Perkins of Calais, Maine, and Julie and her husband Reid Brown of Deer Island, NB.
A graveside service will be held 1:00pm Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at the Fair Haven Cemetery, Deer Island, NB with Rev. Geoffrey Conley, officiating. Condolences to the family may be expressed at www.BrookingsSmith.com
