THORBURN – Isabel Verlie Nason, age 87, formerly of Thorburn, passed away in the Palliative Care Unit of the Aberdeen Hospital on November 15th, 2012.
Born in Thorburn, she was the daughter of the late Alex and Jessie (MacLeod) Jordan.
Isabel was a long time resident of Thorburn. She was a member of the Union Presbyterian Church. Isabel was a former employee of Nova Scotia Power. She was an avid skater in her younger years.
Isabel was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She is survived by daughters, Gail Jordan, New Glasgow; Janet (John) Baxter, Crousetown; a son Bob (Viola), Westville; grandchildren, Matthew Baxter, New Glasgow and Kathryn Baxter, Crousetown; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Isabel was predeceased by her husband Robert in 1992; sisters and brothers-in-law: Beatrice (Floyd) Bowser, Florence (Harland) Baker, Muriel (Bernie) Carroll, Calvin (Winnie) Jordan, Kathryn (Dean) MacAdam.
The family will receive visitors from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. on Sunday in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home. Funeral service will be on Monday at 3 p.m. from the Union Presbyterian Church in Thorburn with Rev. Jeff Lackie officiating. Burial will be in the Thorburn Cemetery. A reception will follow the service in the church hall.
Family flowers only please. Donations in memory of Isabel may be made to the Union Presbyterian Church, the Aberdeen Hospital or to a charity of one’s choice.
