LYONS, JOSEPHINE MAY “JOSIE” - After a lengthy illness Josephine May “Josie” Lyons (nee Beek) of Doaktown, NB went home to be with her Savior on Sunday, November 18, 2012. josie was born in Hazelton, NB on August 24, 1938 to Frederick and Amy (Price) Beek. She loved hunting, fishing, four-wheeling and spending weekends at the camp with her husband. She spent many hours knitting and sewing only to give it away to those she felt needed it. Josie was an excellent cook and loved baking for fundraisers and special occasions. Josie is survived by sons, Galen (Shirley) Betts of Howards, NB, Terry (Sheila) Carr of Stanley, NB, Brent (Tina) Carr of Fredericton, NB, Teddy (Shelly) Lyons of Doaktown, NB; daughter, Ruthie (Dana) Bangerter of Lexington, SC; sister, Christina “Edna” Pratt of Doaktown, NB; brother, Gordon (Doreen) Beek of Hazelton, NB; grandchildren, Adam (Ashley), Denisha, Kali-Jo, Madison, Jaden, Ryan, Emily, Brady, Alex and Brehanna; great-grandchildren, Addison, Ashlyn and Brooklyn; many nieces and nephews; caregivers, Courtney Roy, Nancy Ward, Chelsey Labillois and Brenda Munn. Josie was predeceased by her husband Charles Lyons; her parents; sisters, Mary Watson-Kerstens, Bethany Comeau; brothers-in-law, John Watson, Raymond Comeau, Amos Pratt and Jack Kerstens.
Visitation will take place at Miramichi Valley Funeral Home, 7681 Route 8, New Bandon, NB on Tuesday, November 20, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held from Miramichi Valley Wesleyan Methodist Church on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at 11 am with Rev. J.A. Treese officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the SPCA or Canadian Cancer Society. Personal condolences may be offered through www.miramichivalleyfh.com
