Martin Kevin ‘Marty’ MacPhee, of Green Rd., Sydney, passed away Sunday, November 18, 2012.
Born in Sydney, he was the son of the late Daniel and Jessie (Chipman) MacPhee.
Marty was the owner of MacPhee’s Welding Ltd., Whitney Pier and a perfectionist when it came to his career as a welder. A man with a huge heart, Marty was very generous to his friends and to those in need. He enjoyed car racing and spending time fishing. Mechanically inclined, no matter what he turned his hand to, Marty could take it apart and put it back together.
Surviving are his loving partner and best friend, Avern Brown; daughters, Crystal (Donnie) Bourque and Kelly (Trevor) Bernier, all of Sydney. He was Poppa to grandchildren, Kelsey, Carolann, Jessica, Jordan and Haley. Marty is also survived by his brothers, Ken (Bessie), Steve (Wanda), Doug (Wendy), Allie (Debbie) and Dale (Debbie); uncles, Byron (Hazel) and Billy (Jenny), all of Sydney; the mother of his children, Cindy MacPhee; and his special pets, Candy and Rambo.
He was predeceased by his brother, Jamie.
Visitation will take place at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Friday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Holy Redeemer Church on Saturday 10 a.m., with Rev. Paul Murphy officiating. Interment in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens.
