Berry, Vaughn Leslie, 87, husband of the late Blanche Loretta (Feltham) Berry of Riverview, NB; passed away at The Moncton Hospital, on Sunday, November 18, 2012. Born in Turtle Creek, NB; he was the son of the late Purdy A. and Nettie M. (Steeves) Berry. He was a member of St. Paul's United Church in Riverview. Vaughn retired from Swift Canada Co. after 28 years of service and later retired from #5 Depot Base as a warehouseman with 13 years of service. He was very musical and enjoyed playing Blue Grass, as he was a accomplished musician, having played the guitar, harmonica and accordion. Vaughn enjoyed his family, his grandchildren, his friends, also hunting, fishing, nature, the outdoors and taking care of his home and yard.
He is survived by his daughter Nancy Lee Linkletter (Arthur); two grandchildren Trevor Scott Linkletter and Heather Jane Linkletter; brother-in-law Calvin Sanderson (the late Vera); his special friend Gertrude Taylor; also by several nieces and nephews.
Vaughn was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Besides his parents he is predeceased by his wife of 46 years Blanche L. Berry in 1995, his son Kevin Vaughn Berry in 2002 and four sisters Beulah VanBuskirk (the late Russell), Vera Sanderson, Doris Touchie (the late Jack) and Lena Barry.
Resting at the Riverview Funeral Home, 214 Pine Glen Rd. Riverview with visitation Tuesday, November 20, 2012 from 2:00 to 4:00pm and 7:00 to 9:00pm.
The funeral service will be held at Riverview Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, 214 Pine Glen Rd. on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at 1:00pm with Rev. Andrew O'Neill officiating.
Interment will be in Fairhaven Memorial Gardens, Moncton, NB.
Donations in Vaughn's memory made to the Canadian Diabetic Association, the Cancer Society or to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by his family.
