It is with sadness we announce the passing of Jim Kishiyama. Jim passed away peacefully at the Marjorie Willoughby Snowdon Hospice in Kamloops after his illness with cancer.
Jim survived by his wife of 60 years, Yoshie Kishiyama, his son Kenji (Anne), his two grandchildren, Kiana and Akina, and his brother Shuji (Nobuye), and sister Haruko and his brother and sisters’ families including nieces, nephews, and great-neices and great-nephews. He is predeceased by his two children, Naomi and Gary, by his sister Kimiye “Kaye”, and by his brother-in-law Hiroji.
Jim lived in Lillooet for more than 50 years and worked at the Lillooet mill for 35 years. He is well remembered for his love of fishing and the outdoors and he spent many hours fishing all the local lakes and rivers, also making trips to Vancouver Island for ocean fishing.
The family would like to acknowledge the Hospice and Royal Inland Hospital staff for their kind and compassionate care of Jim during his last days.
In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jim’s name to the Lillooet & District Hospital.
No service will be held at Jim’s request.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Schoening Funeral Home.
