Irene Elizabeth Middleton, born Oct. 28, 1917, formerly of Rockdale, Cape Breton, passed away Nov. 23, 2012 at MacGillivray Guest Home, Sydney.
Born in Rockdale, she was the daughter of the late Albert Landry and Minnie (Wince).
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She is survived by her loving nieces and devoted caregivers, Barbara Clements (Eldon), Cathy Delaney (Blair), Diane Hynes (Raymond) and Pat Parago (Joe), Helen Dixon, Yvonne MacLellan and Betty Chipman, along with many, many other special nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. Having no children, we all became a special part of her family.
She was predeceased by her loving husband John, one year ago, also by her two sisters, Beatrice and Anna Mae and brothers, Daniel and Charlie.
Irene will be sadly missed by all her family and friends.
Visitation for the late Irene Middleton was held Sunday, Nov. 25 from 7-9 p.m. and will resume after 12 p.m. today (Monday) at T.W.Curry Parkview Chapel prior to the funeral mass celebrated at 2 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Church, Cabot Street, with Fr. Jim Oliver officiating. Interment in Resurrection Cemetery, Sydney Forks.
