Paul McAleenan
McALEENAN, PAUL MICHAEL - At the Carleton Kirk Lodge, Saint John, NB on November 23, 2012, Mr. Paul Michael McAleenan, husband of the late Lois L. (Shaw) McAleenan of Saint John, NB. Born at Digdeguash, NB on November 15, 1929, he was a son of the late Herbert and Florence (Noonan) McAleenan. A loving father, brother and uncle, Paul is survived by one daughter, Susan McAleenan of Norfolk, VA, two sisters; Geraldine McShane of Milltown, NB and Pauline Curran of Old Ridge, NB and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, Paul was predeceased by brothers; James, John, Lawrence, Pat, Frank, Henry and Leo and by his sisters; Louise McGarrigle, Kathleen Holmes, Elizabeth Thibodeau, Doris Murphy and Jean McAleenan. Paul was a lifelong resident of Lancaster, Saint John. Prior to his retirement, he was a mechanic by trade and partnered with Leandre Thibodeau as owners of the Simms Corner Texaco for several years and finished his career at Canadian Tire. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and picking berries.
Resting at the St. George Funeral Home & Crematorium (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George, NB with visiting on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from the St. George’s Roman Catholic Church, St. George, NB on Wednesday at 11:30 am followed by the interment at the parish cemetery. In Paul’s memory, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the NB Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family. (www.stgeorgefh.ca)
