It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved sister and aunt, Georgina Andrews, age 96, a resident of the Northside Community Guest Home and formerly of Coxheath Road, on Monday, Nov. 26, 2012, at the guest home.
Georgina was born in North Sydney, a daughter of the late Joseph and Alice Elizabeth (Perham) Ings. In earlier years she was employed at the Sell Rite Department Store and later at the Sally Shop on Charlotte Street, Sydney. She was an active member of St. Mark’s Anglican Church, Coxheath, the ACW and the Altar Guild. She enjoyed baking, her specialty were her cookies, pies and cakes.
Georgina is survived by her sister, Goldie (John) Gunn, North Sydney; a special nephew, Ian Gunn; a special niece, Charlene Ings, as well as many other nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Allister Andrews; sisters, Mary Major, Martha Ings; brothers, Ernest, Johnny, Charles and Angus Ings.
A private family gathering and prayers for Georgina will be held in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney with Rev. Stacey Lemoine officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mark’s Anglican Church Cemetery, Coxheath.
