Virginia Jane (Doucette) Bernard

It is with great sadness and broken hearts that we announce the sudden death of Virginia Jane ‘Jenny’ (Doucette) Bernard.
Born in Sydney, she was the daughter of Georgina (Denny) Doucette and the late Noel Doucette.
She was a member of the Holy Family parish, Eskasoni, and she was was presently a student at TEC pursuing her grade 12. Jenny was also known as a dancer and a poet of the family. Jenny lived for her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, John Joseph Bernard; her children, Theresa (David), Caroline (Lowell), Jenny Rose (Vincent), Allister (Delena), and stepdaughter, Olivia Julian; grandchildren, John David, Jorja Rayne, Christopher, Wyatt, Kaylynn, Marshall Jr., John Andrew, Precious and Richard. She is also survived by her siblings, Vaughen (Shirley), Mike (Karen), Noel Jr., Daniel, Donald, Bernice, Ruby and John.
Visitation will take place at her home Saturday, Dec. 1 at 88 Anslum Rd., Eskasoni, after 5 p.m. and continue Sunday, Dec 2. Funeral mass will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 3 at Holy Family Church, Eskasoni, with Fr. Martin MacDougall officiating. Interment to follow in church cemetery.
