The death occurred at Beach Grove Home on Wednesday, November 28, 2012, of Margaret Elizabeth Carew (nee Montgomery), of Charlottetown, P.E.I., (and formerly of Hunter River), age 83 years. Beloved wife of Lloyd Carew for 64 years.
Margaret was born in Park Corner, P.E.I., on April 25, 1929, to the late Cuthbert and Margaret (Cousins) Montgomery. Dear mother of Merilyn, Fortune Cove, P.E.I.; Beryl, Washington, DC; and Wayne (Nancy) Carew, Stanley Bridge, P.E.I.; and loving grandmother of Michael Carew. Dear sister of Ruth MacKay, Charlottetown, and Beulah Roberts, Summerside; and sister-in-law of Marion Montgomery, Frances Gamble, Jean Frizzell, Harriet (Allison) Frizzell, Melvin (Carol) Carew and Lois Carew. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and her parents-in-law, Alfred and Mabel Carew, Margaret was predeceased by her sister, Muriel MacEwen and brothers, Hodge Montgomery and Sutherland Montgomery; sisters-in-law, Carman Montgomery, Louise Silliphant, Anna Rodd; and brothers-in-law, Leigh MacEwen, George MacKay, Al Roberts, Merton Gamble, Sam Silliphant, Lloyd Frizzell, Wendell Rodd and John Carew.
Resting at Belvedere Funeral Home, Charlottetown, for visitation Friday from 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Saturday at the Central Queen’s United Church, Hunter River, at 10:30 a.m. Interment in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Central Queen’s United Church or the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Foundation.
