Passed away at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital on December 6, 2012, Nora Dutton, age 94. Nora was born October 12, 1918 in St. Bride’s to Patrick and Minnie (Foley) Griffin, and was a long-time resident of St. John’s. She was predeceased by her husband Lawrence V., step-sons Kevin and Larry, step-daughter-in-law Nellie (Gale), granddaughter Kerri, brother John Griffin, sister Mary (Griffin) Wable, brother-in-law Raymond Wable, and sister-in-law Violet (Dohey) Griffin. She is survived by children: Patrick (Pamela Perry), Frank (Judith Hurrell), Dianne (Lachlan Munroe), Brendan (Deanne Shute), Philomena and John (Cathy Green); step-son Dermot “Don” (Margaret Shortt); step-daughter-in-law Betty (O’Neill) Aitken; grandchildren Sean (Lydia), Craig (Suzette Hayden), Sheena Munroe, Chantel Munroe, Johnathan, Taryn (Adrian Baker) and Adam (Rebecca Flood); step-grandchildren: Diane, Rodney, Tina, Chris (Lynda Landry), Bob (Violet Doell), Ron (Coral Burns), Michael Rae (April Smith), Chris Rae (Jimena Bordes) and David Politi; great-granddaughters: Emily and Nila; brother Gerard Griffin; and numerous nieces, nephews, their descendants, and step-great grandchildren. Visitation will be at Caul’s Funeral Home on LeMarchant Road on Saturday, December 8 and Sunday, December 9 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, December 10, 2012 at 9:30 a.m. from the Basilica of St. John the Baptist with cremation to follow. Inurnment will be held at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery at a later date Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in her memory to the Basilica.
