UNGER, Beatrice Maud, 95 of Gull Lake Care Home formerly of McMahon and Swift Current area passed away December 4th, 2012 at approximately 3:15 PM. The Memorial service was held at 5:00 PM, December l0th, 2012 from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints with President Devon Palmer officiating. The organist was Karen McCullam Special Musical number "I am A Child of God" performed by the great grandchildren and primary class, accompanied on guitar by her son Noel Unger. The eulogist was Noel Unger, the ushers: Jon Unger and Alex Dewhurst. The honorary pallbearers were her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and all those who shared in her life. Beatrice was survived by: son David (Rosella) Unger of Waldeck, granddaughter Lisa (Gerry) Kehler of Humble, TX, great-grandchildren Taliesin, Caedmon, Soren, granddaughter Lana (Glenn) Reves of Beaumont, AB, great-grandchildren Danielle, Aidan, son Noel (Rosemary) Unger of Swift Current, grandson J.P. (Nicole) Mills of Saskatoon, great-granddaughters Sophia and Cassandra, granddaughter Christina (Eric) Helgason of Swift Current, great-grandchildren Jonathon, Alexander, Victoria, grandson Michael (Gisa) Unger of Calgary, great-grandson Malek. She was predeceased by: parents Frederick and Mary Willis, husband Herman Unger, sister Lilian Willis, grandson Wade Unger. Beatrice Maud Unger known to her close friends as "Trixie" and to her family as Gramma, was born in East Sussex, England on August 13, 1917. She attended school at Mrs. Sinkins Private Girls School in England, followed by Pittman College. She married Herman Unger on September 25th, 1943, by Vicar Hunter at Raynes Park in St. Xavier Anglican Church, Surrey, England. She worked at a Real Estate Office, Solicitors' Office, and Electrical Wholesalers' as an office worker in London, England before joining the "ATS" (Auxiliary Territorial Service) the British Armed Forces in 1943. Gramma loved the farm life. She enjoyed, gardening, reading books, knitting, and having a "spot" of tea with friends and neighbours. When springtime came you could often find her walking thru her flower garden with her big galoshes on with a grandchild in tow. Gramma's greatest pride in her life were her sons, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved to have her family close to her and enjoyed their many phone calls, visits and letters. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cancer Research Foundation, SPCA or a charity of your choice.
