Julia Funari
Lieu de naissance : Italy
Date de décès : 15 décembre 2012
It is with heartfelt sadness that we, the family of Julia Funari, announce the passing, which occurred Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012, of a loving and strong wife and mother.
Born in Gesso, Italy, Julia was the only daughter of the late Michael and Pearl (Franchi) Girolami.
She came to Reserve Mines in 1950 where she lived with and was predeceased by her aunt Cecilia (Ernest) D’Angelo; and also a second aunt, Gina (Angelo) Piva. She later married and is survived by her husband of almost 60 years, Saturnino (Adorno) also from Italy. She was an avid blueberry picker and childcare provider, but her greatest passion was providing continuous care, love, and strength to her family. She was not just a nonna (grandmother) to her grandchildren, but to everyone who knew her.
Julia is survived by three children, Eric (Isabel), Reserve Mines; Francis (Trisha), Lingan and Christine (Kenny) MacArthur, Sydney (where she and Adorno have resided for the past year and a half). Julia is also survived by four grandchildren, Michael (Jen), Calgary; Angela, Halifax; Meghan (Hank) Ford, Edmonton; Bhreagh, St. John’s; one great-granddaughter, Madison, Edmonton; as well as one brother, Dino (Maria) Girolami and two nephews and a niece in Italy, along with many other relatives and friends, who will miss her greatly.
Julia will be cremated, with the details of a planned memorial service to be announced, when finalized, at a later date.
Donations in Julia’s memory may be made to a charity of choice.
