MUISE, Stephen Cecil – 30, Brooklyn, Yarmouth Co., and St. John’s, Newfoundland, formerly of Quinan, passed away with his family at his side on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 in the QE II Health Sciences Centre (Infirmary Site), Halifax, following a tragic accident. Born April 20, 1982 in Yarmouth, he was a son of Cecil and Simone (LeBlanc) Muise, Quinan. Stephen was currently working as a First Officer aboard the Maersk Nascopie with Maersk Supply out of St. John’s, Newfoundland. His love for the sea began in the summer of 2000 after he graduated from Ste. Anne-du-Ruisseau High School, after which he worked six seasons aboard The Cat. He subsequently graduated with an electronics engineering degree from NSIT, followed by a four year Nautical Science degree from the Marine Institute in St. John’s, where he graduated with an Unlimited Watchkeeper’s Certificate. He was also a member of the Master Mariner’s Association. He loved Toyota vehicles and knew everything there was to know about them. Stephen lived life to the fullest, and he was passionate about Nascar racing, and on occasion, drove his dad’s racecar. He also loved motorcycle riding, going to the camp and four-wheeling – he loved driving, and anyone who drove with him will remember him for his heavy foot. He will also be remembered for his love of Apple products and loved reading about Steve Jobs’ life and success. Through his relatively short life, Stephen made many friendships and acquaintances and he held those friendships very close to his heart. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He loved Christmas and will certainly be missed every day, but especially during this time of year. Aside from his loving parents, Cecil and Simone, Stephen is survived by two sisters, Jennifer (Robert) Dulong, Quinan and Amy (Eric) Landry, Springhaven; nieces, Tiffany and Alysha; nephews, Brandon, Austin, Tucker, Thristen, as well as by his paternal grandmother, Emilda Muise, Quinan, and maternal grandparents, Edward and Elsie (Muise) LeBlanc, Ste. Anne-du-Ruisseau, as well as by several aunts, uncles and cousins. He also leaves behind the love of his life, his girlfriend, Darolyn Nicholl. He was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Emery Muise, as well as by an uncle, Alan in infancy. Visitation took place from 7 to 9 p.m., Friday at the H. M. Huskilson Funeral Home, 29 Albert St., Yarmouth. The funeral mass was held at 1 p.m., Saturday, December 22 at Saint Agnes Catholic Church, Quinan, Father Albéni d’Entremont officiated. Interment followed in the parish cemetery. It has been requested that there be family flowers only. Donations in memory of Stephen may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to a charity of choice.
