SCOVILLE, James "Donald" – 72 of the Meadow’s Home for Special Care, passed away at the Meadow’s on December 19, 2012. Born September 1, 1940 he was the son of the late Winston and Lillian (Hubbard) Scoville. It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our dear brother, Donald James Scoville. He is gone to be in the arms of our mother, Lillian Frances Scoville. He was her special child and needed a lot of caring, which she did all the days of her life. Donald had so many interests, among them was his love of walking where he would go to the shops down town and stop in and say hello to many of his friends who worked there. They were always kind to him and treated him well. In years past, he could often be found fishing off the wharf in South End. Donald was an avid bubble gum card collector which he had hundreds of. He liked going to the YARC and even appeared on stage to tell some of his hilarious jokes. He was fascinated by trains and on a trip to Alberta a few years ago, saw some really long ones. He is survived by his sisters, Louise Fox of Yarmouth; Joyce Grant, Pauline (John) Doucette, of Wassis, N.B., Leta DeVeau, of Yarmouth, Vickie (John) Deveau,of Hamilton,Ont., Gloria (George) Rozon, of Annapolis Valley, and Irene (David) Manthorne, of Yarmouth, who handled Donald’s affairs in his later life. He also left three brothers, Kenneth, Gerald (Rose) of Nfld., Wallace (Vivian) of Middleton, N.B. Besides his parents he was predeceased a brother, Gilbert. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home & Crematorium, Yarmouth. Visitation was held Saturday, December 22, from 7-9 p.m and prayers at 8:30 p.m in Sweeny’s Funeral Home south room, Father John MacPherson officiated. A memorial service will be held in the spring of 2013. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice. Goodbye Frunky, we will miss you so.
