McGARRIGLE, ROBERTA MARIE - Peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John, NB on December 20, 2012, Mrs. Roberta Marie (Gaudette) McGarrigle, wife of the late William K. McGarrigle of Blacks Harbour, NB. Born at Blacks Harbour on December 1, 1935, she was a daughter of the late John and Pearl (Outhouse) Gaudette. A loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Roberta is survived by two daughters; Elaine (Ward) McComiskey of Grand Manan NB and Kendra McGarrigle (Keith Sherwood) of Saint John NB, three sons; Wayne (Judy) McGarrigle of Pennfield, NB, Billy (Claudette) McGarrigle and Gordon McGarrigle both of Blacks Harbour, three grandchildren; Justinna, Amy and Janelle, great granddaughter, Sophie Marie, two sisters; Evelyn (Stanley) Baldwin of St. George, NB and Maxine Justason of Fredericton, NB, her faithful companion, Daisy and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband and parents, Roberta was predeceased by one son in infancy, Norman and by one grandson, Nathan McGarrigle. Prior to her retirement, Roberta worked for Connor's Bros. in Blacks Harbour. She was a passionate grandmother and her grandchildren were her hobby. She loved to crochet and knit and travel, especially on bus tours to the Gaithers. She enjoyed attending the Sunday afternoon Jam Sessions at the Stella Maris Hall and loved to listen to the Country Jamboree on the radio. Above all, she loved to spend time with her family and her church family who were just as important to her. Her loving smile and giving heart will be missed by all who knew her.
Resting at the Blacks Harbour Wesleyan Church, Blacks Harbour, NB from where the service will be held on Sunday at 3:00 pm with Pastor Dave McElhinney and Rev. Mark McCluskey officiating. The interment will take place at the Pennfield Rural Cemetery at a later date. Visiting at the church will take place on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. In Roberta's memory, donations to the Charlotte County Cancer Society or to the Blacks Harbour Wesleyan Church would be greatly appreciated by the family.
