On Sunday, December 16th, 2012, Laurie passed away peacefully at the age of 91 years.

Predeceased by his loving wife of 68 years, Marie, Laurie is survived by his son Michael (Laurie) of Vancouver, his daughters Suzanne (Gary) Boyer of Abbotsford, Linda (George) Moore of Kelowna and Wendy (Terry) Haines of Kamloops, eight grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Laurie was born in Botha, Alberta. He served his country during World War II as a pilot in the R.C.A.F. During this time he met and married the love of his life, Marie. After a short stay in Alberta, they came to Kamloops in 1946 and have made their home here since.

Involved in the community, Laurie served as a city alderman for two terms during the 60's. He was an active member of the Kinsmen Club, the Masonic Lodge and the Air Force Association #8861. He enjoyed coaching minor hockey, curling, and was an avid golfer.

The family would like to thank Dr. Hamilton and the staff at Kamloops Seniors Village for their excellent care.

A Memorial Service will be held for Laurie on Saturday, January 5th, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Schoening Funeral Chapel. Captain The Reverend Isabel Healy-Morrow will officiate.

Should friends desire, donations to the Alzheimer's Society would be appreciated in his memory.
