It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our dear mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Lillian Musgrave, on Monday, Dec. 24, 2012.
Born in Florence, she was the daughter of the late Roderick and Annie Mae (Lawrence) MacKinnon.
Prior to moving to North Sydney, Lillian had been a resident of Millville for over thirty years.
She loved reading, and bingo, as well as knitting and crocheting for family and friends and enjoyed the Seniors Program at Harbour View Hospital in Sydney Mines.
She was a member of St. John United Church, Big Bras d’Or.
Lillian is survived by her daughters, Kim (Richard) Cairns, Black Rock, Alberta Graham, B.C.; her stepdaughter, Barbel Jaki (Hans Deiter), Germany; her grandchildren, Oliver, Ellis, Georgia, James, Charlie, Tracy, Gale, Coleman, Katie, Stormy, Lars, Olaf; by her honorary granddaughter, Janice; her great grandchildren, Hayley, Jayden, Mataya, Mia, Brooklyn; her honorary great granddaughter, Lillianna; her sister, Rita MacKinnon, North Sydney; her brother, Morton MacKinnon, Sydney Mines; her special niece, Donna (Garland) Standing, North Sydney; friends, Donalda Kyte and Margie Hawley; also many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Albert Musgrave, two grandchildren, Barry, Rebecca and sisters, Mae Wall, Marie Clarke.
There will be no visitation or funeral service by Lillian’s request. A private family burial will take place in Black Rock Cemetery, Big Bras d’Or.
