GORMAN, Oswald Wayne – 83 - Wilmot. With great sadness we announce to family and friends the quiet passing of Oswald “Ozzie” Wayne Gorman on December 20, 2012 at Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton Nova Scotia after a long courageous battle with Parkinson's. Ozzie was born on May 30, 1929 in North Noel Road to the late Cannice and Ivy Gorman. He spent 26 years in the Armed Forces as airframe mechanic and was awarded several commendations for excellence. Upon military retirement, Ozzie continued in the work force as the Middleton manager of Hoyts Moving and Storage. Ozzie was an avid card player, golfer, bowler, curler and spectator of all sports. A loving and devoted family man, he kept his sense of humor and warm smile to the very end. He will be missed by all, including his loyal dog Rocky. Ozzie leaves behind his beloved wife, June of 58 years. Besides his wife June (White) Gorman, Ozzie is survived by daughters, Gail (John) Price, Guelph, ON; Faye (Trent) Johansen, Hillsburn, Annapolis County; Kim (Brian) Clark, New Glasgow; Pam (Paul) Gorman, Middleton. Grandchildren; Jennifer (Jonathan), Drew (Amanda), Justin, Chelsey (Devry), Jasmine, Kristin, John (Maria), Evan, Jacob, Matthew, Jessica. Great grandchildren; Benjamin, Jacob, Elizabeth, Onnika, Payton, Cohen and Kayson. Brother, Joseph Gorman, Saint John, NB; Sisters; Lillian (Seldon) Brown, Dryden, ON; Cora (Bob) Jones, Truro; Joyce Rogers, Sussex, NB; Cheryl Walsh, Dartmouth and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Ozzie was predeceased by a brother in infancy. Cremation has taken place. By request, there will be no visitation. A Memorial Service was held Wednesday, December 26, 2012 in Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street (902) 825-3448 with Rev. Michael Mugford officiating. A reception for family and friends followed the service. Interment will be at a later date in Kennetcook Cemetery.
