Ruby Mills

BN. Passed peacefully away on January 1st, 2013 at St. Pat’s Mercy Home. She is predeceased by her loving parents Edward and Meredas Mills, her brother and sister-in-law Gerald and Clarice Mills, as well as her cousin Bruce Short. She is survived by her 3 nieces: Colleen Mills, Debbie Duffy (Vernon) and Sheila Vandersteen (Ken); her beloved aunts: Anne Butt, Gertie Thistle, Emma Foster, Lillian Goudie, Olive Short and a special first cousin whom was always there to lend a helping hand, Pauline Tenberg (Dennis), in addition to numerous extended family and friends. Ruby dedicated her life to two things: her family and her Nursing career. Her house will always hold precious memories of family gatherings filled with life and laughter. Ruby was also a dedicated Registered Nurse for 35 years, 20 of which she taught nursing. Her caring nature and passion for patient care earned her the utmost respect from her nursing students and colleagues. She also fought a brave battle against Muscular Dystrophy and was a strong advocate for raising awareness and a cure. Her continued determination through adversity was an inspiration for us all. She was truly loved and will be truly missed. We love you Aunt Ruby. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Ave. on Thursday, January 3, 2013 from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Friday, January 4, 2013 from Barrett’s Chapel at 11:00 a.m. with interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Kenmount Rd.
