THORBURN- Agnes Macumber - 84, Thorburn passed away peacefully Friday, January 4, 2013, in Valley View Villa, Riverton.
Born in Isaac Harbour, Guysborough, she was a daughter of the late Angus Stewart and Mary Moore. She had worked in various places over the years, Lismore Seafoods, KFC and Frenchy's. Agnes was a member of the Thorburn friendship group. She enjoyed yard sales, visiting people, sewing, knitting, hunting, trout fishing and the outdoors. Agnes was a loving, mother, grandmother, great–grandmother and friend.
Surviving are her daughters, Kay Duggins, Mary (Harlan) Simpson, Lower Barneys River; Nellie (Pat) Evans, Calgary, Alta.; son, Alfred Macumber, Toronto, Ont.; sister, Isabel Dean, Stellarton; brother, William "Billy” MacLeod, Thorburn; 10 grandchildren; eight great- grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, James Alfred Macumber; son, Murdock Macumber; sister, Esther McInnis; brother, Robert “Bobby” MacLeod; grandson, David Duggins; son-in-law, Nelson Duggins.
The family will receive visitors 2-4 p.m. and 6- 8 p.m. Tuesday in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel with Rev. Pat Rose officiating. Interment will be in Woodburn Cemetery, Woodburn.
