Audrey Bird
It is with great sadness that the family of Audrey Adrien Bird, age 77, of Amherst announce her passing on Sunday, January 6, 2013 at Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Upper Nappan, NS.
Born in Amherst, she was a daughter of the late Lloyd and Winnie (Laurette) Gould.
In her younger years, Audrey worked for Murphy’s Pants Factory in Amherst and then for Wandlyn Inn and Lifesavers in Amherst and retired from Seagull Pewter in Pugwash.
She and her husband were foster parents for 20 years.
Audrey loved playing darts, knitting and bowling.
She is survived by her husband Donald, one daughter Sonita Bird of Ontario, two brothers Reginald (Evelyn) Gould of Hamilton, Ontario and Douglas (Marilyn) Gould of Amherst, grandchildren Alexander Thomas and Chad Lowther.
Besides her parents, Audrey was predeceased by a son Donnie, two sisters Margaret and Gwen and two brothers Bobbie and Sonny.
There will be no visitation.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at 10 a.m. in Campbell’s Funeral Home, Amherst, NS. (667-9906)
Deacon Howard Gotell will officiate.
Interment will take place in the spring in the St. Charles-Nativity Cemetery, Amherst.
