It is with great sadness that the family of Joy Leggett (nee Mackenzie) announces her passing on January 8, 2013 at the age of 85 years.

Joy was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia in 1927 and there met her lifelong companion Robert James Leggett (deceased 2002). After the war, they moved to Montreal and cottaged in Dunany where they raised four children: Jim (Marlene), Patricia (Murray Dundass), Stephen (Cecilia) and Tim (Julie). Joy and Bob journeyed to Kamloops in 1990 to be closer to family. Joy had tremendous pride and unconditional love for her 13 grandchildren and partners and for her 21 great grandchildren.

She will be fondly remembered for her radiant smile and huge warm heart which touched everyone who met her. Her passing occurred peacefully at the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Hospice after a joyous celebration with all of her children and numerous grandchildren present.

The family wishes to thank the wonderful caregivers at the hospice as well as Dr. Steyn and Dr. Connelly at the Royal Inland Hospital for providing her with excellent care over the holiday season.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests donations to the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Hospice Center in Joy's honour.
