Ralph Frederick Geizer, 69, of Sydney River, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in Halifax on Feb. 13, 1943, Ralph was the son of the late Ralph and Dorothy (Shay) Geizer.
For many years, he was employed with Metropolitan Life, retiring in 1994 as branch manager. During his retirement years, Ralph enjoyed being a stay at home “Papa” to his eight loving grandchildren.
Ralph is survived by his wife, Heather (Reid) Geizer; children, Joelle Sanipass (John Peter), Janelle, Janet, Gregory (Natasha) Geizer and Joycelyn Marinelli (Christopher); grandchildren, Tasha, Wynter, Hailey, John Sanipass, Keagen, Kennedie, Kohen Geizer and Ciana Marinelli. He is also survived by his sister, Diane and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents and two special companions, Duke and Jazz.
At Ralph’s request there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held for immediate family only.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
