Passed away peacefully in the presence of her family at St. Clare’s Hospital, St. John’s on Tuesday, January 15, 2013, Dorothy Ella Mae Penney, aged 89 years of Canning’s Cove, a dear mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, mother-in-law and friend. Waiting in heaven for her are her husband Leslie (1971) and son Dexter (2002), her parents Catherine and Heber Chatman and all her brothers and sisters. Leaving to mourn her loss are her sons: Sterling (Janice), Murdoch & Monty; daughters: Vera Brockerville (Allan) and Ena Young (Mike); her precious grandchildren: Lesley Davis (Mike), Trevor Young (Giselle), Mitchell Stead (Erika), Ryan Penney (Joanne) and Jonathan Young (Kristie); one special great-grandchild Ethan Davis; daughter-in-law Florence; also left to mourn a large circle of family and friends. Resting at St. John The Divine Anglican Church, Canning’s Cove. Funeral service 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 19, 2013 at St. John The Divine Anglican Church, Canning’s Cove with interment at Anglican Cemetery, Canning’s Cove.
