CLAIRMONT, Sandra Margaret “Sandy” – 51, of Plymouth, Yarmouth Co., passed away surrounded by family and friends on January 16, 2013, at Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born August 15, 1961 in Yarmouth, she was a daughter of Irma Oxner and the late Ken Oxner. She is survived by husband, Dennis Clairmont; sons, Jason (Candice) Clairmont, Jeremy (Kendra) Clairmont and Jeff (Vanessa) Clairmont; beloved sister of Ron (Lorraine) Oxner, Nancy (Nora) Oxner and Maria (Jeff) Pitman; she was a proud grandmother to Devon, Victoria and new bebe, Josephine. Besides her father, she was predeceased by stepfather, Gerry Pippy; beloved grandmothers, Margaret Oxner and Lillian Hatfield. Born and raised in Yarmouth, she participated in Girl Guides and Majorettes as a child. She was known for her bright smile and her red hair. She worked for many years at K Mart and Walmart. She enjoyed being at her home, with many hobbies of crafting, sea glass collecting and baking. Sandy loved her many cats and dogs over the years. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny's Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. Visitation took place Saturday, January 19 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service was held Sunday, January 20 at 2 p.m. from Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Amy Corey officiating. A reception followed. Interment will take place in the spring at Yarmouth Mountain Cemetery. Donations in Sandy's memory can be made to the Yarmouth SPCA.
