Hiltz, Elizabeth Diana - The death of Elizabeth Diana Hiltz occurred at her residence in Orchardview Long Term Care on January 17th, 2013. Born in Black River on July 1st, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Wilfred and Lillian (Hiltz) Spidle and step-daughter to the late Verna Spidle. Betty is survived by her spouse, John Henry Hiltz of the Veteran's Health Unit; her sons, Laurie (Paula) of Oromocto, Michael (Dean) of Fredericton and Gary and Thomas (Lois) both of Oromocto; grandchildren, Michael McCoy (Jenny), Thomas Jr. Hiltz and Shane Hiltz; two great-grandchildren, Meagan and Logan; siblings, Hughie Spidle (Joyce), Doreen Staveley (Ernie) and Jean Bieker (Ed); half siblings, Perry, Ford, Margaret, Sharon, Dawn and Wendy as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by parents, her step-mother and her siblings, Russell Spidle, Kay Smith, Marjorie Davidson and Verna Spidle. The family wishes to thank the staff at the Orchard View Long Term Care, Dr Vaughan Roxborough and Dr. Tim Snell for the exceptional care given to Betty. There will be no visitation or service by request. Interment will take place at a later date in the Geary, French Lake, Waterville Memorial Cemetery. For those who wish, donations in memory of Betty made to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family.
